Is the HCD8 concept car the new Tiburon?
Rumours are abound that the Hyundai HCD8 concept car may be the platform for an all new Hyundai Tiburon or Coupe in 2006. With the recent launch of a new facelifted Coupe, it is unlikely that Hyundai will bring a new model out next year.
In 2004 Hyundai showcased the HCD8 at the Detroit Motor Show and the Korean carmaker is now busy preparing it for production. This concept was also the first model which was designed by Hyundai's $30m US design centre in California.
The new Tiburon could be a big hit for Hyundai as it will have the same muscular design as the HCD8 with its sleek, flowing lines and severely sloped roofline which drops away to form a rounded rear flank.
